the bubbles could be proteins (DOC),which is causing some of the colouring to your water also medication and water treatments can cause it
the protein will come from spawning off both fish ,frogs or from food.....over feeding or high protein foods or even the water source
proteins also cause algae blooms like blanket weed or singlecell algae that can also discolour your water
regular water changes help or a protein skimmer
as for the goldie
she would have had a low immune system as she came out of winter,
she may have got a parasite or damage to the scales in that area and the wound is open to water the bacteria would have took over and caused the ulcer.
the male may have been ready to mate and she would have eggs ready to spawn but if she was feeling ill and exhausted she probably wouldnt have bothered and was trying to conserve her energy,so with the swelling from the ucler and the eggs she may give the impression of being egg bound
ulcers can be caused by poor water quality so make sure nothing has died in the pond or creek if this runs to your pond
fish become stressed in poor water and are suseptable to a wide range of bacteria
