i do agree with the article though but its not such a bad thing about aggression loss as it does make an easier tank to stock, most of the time....
my wild ornatums i had were much more aggressive than any other cichlid ive kept and i would love to see what they are like at 12 inches even the guy that bought them from me had to sell some on as they were trying to dominate his tank which had some so called 'nasty fish' in.
even with my current angel tank you can see the difference between the wild caught fish and the tank bred fish when it comes to aggression.
i think another cichlid thats reputation as a hard nut has been destroyed is the jack dempsey.
