no matter what i do my fish always hurt themselves by bashing into things or wedging themselves behind stuff or jumping into places they shouldn't be!

Just a second ago i found my female betta wedged behind my filter with my tiny one, and got stuck =[ i had to move my filter out and separate her because shes hurt! seriously i think that they should know better by now! my other female has just recovered from jumping into my males side....

i feel like a baby sitter! haha

:/

Haha it's funny what they somehow manage to get themselves into one of my kuhlis wedged himself behind the extra filter i have running in my tank for a little while.

But because the filter is on the front of the tank i could see him i thought he was dead! So i went over to take a look and it truned out he was just taking a little nap, i won't even go into the havoc they've caused by hiding in holes in the rocks

I'm guessing the betta's don't like the speed of your water current and are trying to find somewhere with slower water. Do you have a fast filter in there?

My Siamese fighters like to jump into my internal filter when I shut it down and take the media out for cleaning. I didn't realise at first and they almost went to an early grave.

Females have shorter fins and can swim far better than males so a stronger current shouldn't really be the issue,

Some fish are just jumpers

aye thats what i thought, i mean my tank is quite large and long, the current is quite fast but its been there a while and so have they, i think they are just curious little things...i just hope it doesn't kill them!

That's one of the first laws of fish: if a fish CAN fit somewhere it's not supposed to, it WILL.
