Guys,

I am guessing that they are just looking for food but i was wondering why mbuna dig all the time?
Am i right.

They really make me laugh, they scoop up sand from all over my tank yet dump it in the same place which seems weird.
I am getting fed up having to level the sand every day!

My tank....what do you think?

they always dig its natural for mbuna, they dig to make nests for themselves, you re right it is fun to watch

just what are you complaining about? the tank looks fine!

if you want a fish that doesnt do anything.....get guppies.
simple research into cichlids will tell anyone how they nest, search for food, make their own territory.

oh! and you can stop now trying to smooth things out every day, THEY DO NOT STOP. IT'S WHAT THEY DO!

i love watching mine dig, well funny, IMO it looks better & more natural with nests, holes or pits than it being all level

Hold on a mo..... I ain't complaining....

The digging in my experience is usually a preface to breeding and depending on your stocking levels, increased agression. Nice looking tank by the way.

Mine dig caves under every peice of rock, woke up 1 morning to find
they had stacked the gravel on top of the filter. You could keep smoothing it
over, it will give them something to do i spose.
