Whose Eggs?

Noticed lots of eggs scattered over our bog wood today- well I assume they are eggs. Is there any way of knowing who may have laid them? They are 1-2mm white pearls that almost seem embedded in the bog wood and scattered all over them.
We have albino bronze corydoras x 4(don't know sex), bolivian rams(4 but don't know sex), dwarf neon rainbow fish(2m,1f), denisons barbs x5 , 2 gourami (1m,1f)+ some other fish it can't be. Also 2 apple snails and 2 tiger snails.

I assume they are either corys,gouramis or rams or snails- is there any way of knowing - camera not good enough to get piccy. If not eggs what could they be?

Are your tiger snails nerites? Mine laid white eggs all over my bogwood. They never hatch and are impossible to remove - well I couldn't get them off!

You can rule out gouramis because they are bubble nest builders. They wouldn't produce the kind of eggs you have described.

Here's a picture of cory eggs so you can compare them to what you've found. C. aeneus corys are more likely to spawn on glass or plants, but sometimes spawn on other surfaces too.

Thanks, not cory eggs then as they don't look like that. What on earth is a nerite - I've never heard of that so wouldn't know if my tiger snails were nerites or not !

Well I've just googled nerite and found a picture of our tiger snails...they are cunningly disguised as zebra nerite snails ! So do they lay eggs on bog wood then...are we going to be parents of five million snails...though admit they are fantastic algae eaters...clean all our leaves much better than our apple snails!

Nerite snail eggs will not hatch in freshwater so don't worry about having your tank taken over.

No, mine never hatched, and no fish in my tank has ever eaten them. You just have to get used to your bogwood looking like it has measles.

They are the best ever algae eaters. They are incredibly sensitive to meds though, so if you ever have to treat your tank, make sure you move them to safety first.
