Nope. I've decided I've about had it with fish; they're too space/time/money consuming. The tanks have made our electric bill go up so much that it isn't even funny, and every free minute of my time is consumed doing water changes. The betta rescue has been fun, but when you rescue unhealthy animals, they tend to wrack up medical bills throughout their lives. I am under the impression that sickly fish tend to continually have troubles, weakened immunity, perhaps? Everyone that I bought ill tends to have flare-ups, and the one that I bought healthy has never had a problem in his life.
Once I get the 75g for my goldfish, I'm done. The betta tanks will fill with Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches as they age and pass on. Then I'll just have the two goldfish and the CAE. Those tanks are the lowest maintenance because they can be cycled; its these 9 unfiltered five-gallon tanks that are killing me.
However, I am buying gifts FOR my fish for christmas. The bettas are getting wingless fruit flies, and the CAE and Goldfish are getting a bigger tank. All of my pets get holiday gifts, and this holiday season, two mice are getting gifts as well: the gift of a new home with us. I just drove to Port Jervis today to fill out the paperwork and pick them up ^^
