been away from fiskeeping for a little while now due to lots of recent house moves.

well to my suprise she took me shopping today and bought me a 5ft aquaone aquience ar1500 130g, along with 2 aquis 1050 series 2 externals

cant wait to get started ,the stocking possibilities oooooooh.

will put some picks up soon and fish for some ideas B-)

Welcome back in to the fold of fishkeeping - we have only recently started out on this.

And what a lovely surprise your wife gave you - that is one heck of a nice sized tank.
I wish we had the room for one that size.

You lucky so and so

Regards

dominates the room a bit haha

Happy days nice wife :) Id be more worried what the hidden agenda is ha ha

Good luck with it, it will look fab, any ideas on what you want to stock? :good:

Ive just helped the uncle-in law move the 6ft version of this tank.

One thing i would say though is that the filtration included wouldn't be up to it imo. The 6ft one comes with 2 1250's and i was shocked to say the least. I have run two 1200LPH filters on a 180 litre tank before and still felt it could handle more.

So... What are your plans then? And yes, like Simon says, beware of the hidden agenda!

im sure there will be some way to return the favour ;)

honestly not sure about the stock,as there are too many things too choose from, gonna keep the tank simple, hardscape i think.

any suggestions?

Depends what you're wanting. What takes your fancy? Community? Planted? New World Cichlids? Malawi? Old world Cichlids?

was maybe thinking of a cental american theme, rainbow cichlids, convicts, firemouths etc or maybe oddballs always wanted a fire eel

Give the Convicts a miss mate. Rainbows are a winner though for me... As long as you don't want plants. lol.

well i think i have decided to build the tank around a fire eel as its the one fish i have always wanted, maybe adding 1 large group of a schooling species that are big enough not to get eaten.

any ideas? southeast asian species would be great.
