Who names their fish?

In the tropical tank:

'Percy' the Golden Nugget Plec
'Beano' the Clown Plec
'The Goon Squad' 5 x Leopard Danios & 4 x Pearl Danios

In the coldwater:

'Meg & Mog' the Black Moors
'Mork & Mindy' the Shubunkins

i only name some of our fish the fav ones and the ones with the most character
ie: bruce red tailed catfish

As it is near impossible to tell zebra danios apart (they dont stay still long enough for one thing) or penguin tetras I cant name all my fishes. I think they wuold get offended if I got their names wrong. They would think I didn't care or get miffed cos THEY know who Dave is................

i name the ones i can tell apart, and the ones with individual personalities. and i have gone with a theme for the names in my angle tank, but have to have them for at least a few days usually to know which character they are most like. i know it is nuts, but it feels better than hey you

since i have young sons, everything gets named. its kinda fun to see what we come up with. sometimes we are just driving down the street and somone will say, "hey, micky d's is a good fish name" if we are not inspired by the time the fish (or other anamial) has been in the house for 2 days we resort to the dictionary. we find a neat sounding work that isnt too common or inapproate.

I named almost all my fish that show character...it's kind of hard to name the fish that live in shoals because they almost look all the same but sometimes I manage ^__^

one of my platy fry stands out from the rest because he has a big black spot on his tail. i named him of course, spot. all the rest of the platy fry are not special enough or unique enough to diserve names. they all look identical.

i also have an adult female platy which i named 'taps on glass", i dont know why i named her that. i think i was drunk at the time.
the rest of my fish dont diserve names.

No. I wanted to , but it'd take me a long time to find mythilogical characters for fish that number in the 10's. Too hard to tell the difference between the fish at times, too.

I name My fancy goldfish Since you can tell those apart ....As for the tropicals I only name My angels and Plecos. And My one betta. The others are all schooling fish and Look all the same

I name only the ones that I can tell apart. Right now 7 bettas are: Motorcycle(my 5yo named it),After the Rain('cuz he looks like a rainbow),Purple Haze, Yoshi, Blizzard, Exotic(my 13yo)and Duke(my 12 yo).

The goldfish are: Speckle, Fizz and Black Eyed Pea. My Pleco is Rico.

I have names for all of my bettas, male and female. Now if I could only tell my 2 oto's apart, I'd name them too.
