Dont worry i started with a 5 gallon tank then a 10 gallon then a 20 gallon now a 55 gallon tank so talk ur parents into it introduce them livebeares thats how i got my parents intrested

thats impossible my mom wont even let me get sand for my 10gallon and my dad is realy stingy he gets mad at my bro for filling in his tank at a gas station 0.02 cents more expensive (per gallon) and hed get mad if he didnt fill it up so its a lose lose situation... my dad never had any fun when he was a kid just "study study and dont look back" type thing

hide it in your closet .........haa haa just kidding don't do that! Just keep talking to them about it (don't annoy them) and educate them......maybe then they will give in once they know it isn't as hard as it used to be........

show them guppys how they give birth and how to take care of them keeping them alive the fun of wathching something u helped get live growing. Or show them a book of livebearers or tell them a Dog or a bigger fish tank.

you dont know them it took me a year of begging to get my guitar
they wont even lemme get it with my own money
i have around $350 from mowing the lawn etc
it took around 8 months to get my rabbit
and i snuck my fish in so now we cant take them back...err we wont be able to in 3 days shhhh
and my moms really serious about not sneaking in anymore fish she said if i got any other fish she'd kill alla em

I snuck (spelling) in a hampster once when I lived with my mom and dad, and my mom flipped out. She has a thing for rodents in her house...lol

I'm sorry they are having such a hard time with it. Hopefully with time, they will change their minds. Maybe if they see that you take good care of it they will let you get more?

A couple things a month isn't bad- at least you can be sure not to overstock right away.

Just make sure you do water changes every couple of weeks so the water stays clear My parents hate it if any of my tanks have algae on them (even though it's not necessarily my fault), so as long as I keep the tanks clean, they get to stay

Kind of guy who counts every last penny.

All i say is if you have the money (dont need to borrow off them), then just buy what you want. They'll moan for a few days, but after that, they'll find something else to moan about.

You shouldn't disobey/disrespect your parents. That being said, you may try proving to them how responsible you are with your other pets, chores, homework,etc..And also point out that fishkeeping is very educational. I've learned all kinds of things about living things as well as water chemistry from having an aquarium.

grades (i got straight a's and a couple b's to me thats pretty good be that is never good enoguh "you always can do better") doesnt work when i tried to explain cycling to them and i needed ammonia he got me ammonia eliminator
hes very narrow minded so its very hard trying to reason with him

i give him like a million good reasons and he still says no i dont get his logic

my mom would be fine if my dad would be say yes because "she has to respect her husband" which is found somewhere in the bible

did i say he probally had no friends in school because he studied so much??

for the edjucational part hed just get me like an encyclopedia because he says stfuf like reading can teach you everything etc... he doesnt like doing stuff himself
he just likes reading about other peoples failures... hes a big pessimist

I am so glad I am old enough to do what I want, but young enough to remember how annoying it can be when 'grown ups' tell their kids what to do without reason.

I hope I'll always remember that.
