Thank goodness for taking pictures and actually noticing something funky was up. Betsy's business end has a new white thing sticking out of it. I've never seen it there before, but then again I never made it a perpetual habit to stare at and observe her rear. Any ideas as to what this could be?

Nothing to Worry About, That is just the Egg Spot. Means she is carrying eggs

Ahhh okay then. Would make sense considering how round she's been getting. She's not much of an eater like the male, I didn't figure she was constipated. Any recommendations on how to get the male to pay attention to her? He seems a little distracted and not all that interested in making nests any more. Perhaps he's too old?

It will take time but he will do something, he may not be interested in at the minute, thats great news :)

I think the male is petrified of her. XD He made her a nest a loonng time ago and everything went smoothly until she changed her mind halfway through the act and nearly killed him. He's not a very aggressive fish-never was-but now after recovery he's the type to swim away and hide in the plants when the female comes around the corner. Lol she broke him! Poor guy. Thanks for the help, I was worried for a moment.

Oh bless him! Hahahaha women will always win that battle (joking!) ;) He might just like the quiet life "been there tried that, got mauled by a female, quite happy to mosy around" :)
