White Thick Cobwebs

I have a 3ft community set up. I have noticed in the last couple of weeks that there has been small white bunches of a cobweb type substance growing from the gravel upwards. Although i recently added some new live plants the problem started just before i got them. The fish and plants are healthy and water quality is ok. The light is on in the tank for ten hours a day. I have never come across this problem before. Any advice would be most gratefully received.

Have you recently added any wood to your tank?

There is established bogwood in the tank that there has been there since the tank was set up about two years ago.

Pprobably just some type of algae

I had it too its from overfeeding and my under gravel filter caused it all to get sucked right into the substrate so it gets hard and sticks well to the substrate, you will need to get rid of it.

What i done was half emtied the tank then massarged the substrate with my fingers loosening the dirt away from the gravel then i hoovered it all with the vacumme gravel
