White stringy thing

One of my fish seems to have a white stringy thing on his upper lip. He has been swimming up and down the sides of the tank in order to try and get it off i believe. What is this and how shoudl i treat it?? I dont want to lose him!

Could it be a worm of some sort? Are there any other stringy things in the tank? Check out this earlier post, that's all I can say really. Wait till our friends across the pond wake up.. might get more later on in the day.

no worms of any sort...its right above his uppear beak, hes sick....he just curled up for a bit, thanks for the answer tho.

Could it be mouth fungus? Is it like some white stuff along the upper lip?
