The only things it will harm are invertibrates and marine shark. If you use the correct dosage things should be ok. I usually under dose just to be on the safe side.

Yes you want to treat any fish that has been in the tank or has come in contact with the fish from the infected tank.

Chaces of the fish or a fish dieing are slim AS LONG as you treat the tank. Once they develope a bad case it will attach to there eyes and gills. Once the parasite has attached to the gills the fish start to experience breathing troubles and will swim around the tank as if they are being burned.
this is the parasite beneth the skin.

So yes, fish left untreated can die from ich. I would suggest treating them all and NOT itroducing new fish till the problem is cleared up. If you continue adding fish the parsite will continue to thrive. And as I mentioned in most cases evrytime the outbreak accurs it can and will be worse.

i got some malkon for fish skin diseases by lagan pharmaceuticals, the dude at the lfs told me to take the carbon pad of my the filter. it was pretty cheap so i dont know if its reliable or not. and says on the bottle that heating up the tank is not necessary but should i do it anyway to 29c or somthing so it will heal faster?

I'm having a heck of a time getting rid of the ick that's attacking my dojo and my pleco as indicated in my post( ick won't leave my plec). I've tried a salt treatment and I'm on my second type of ick medication which doesn't seem to be working either. Both fish are small scaled or scaless.
Anyone know what treatment I could or should use for these fish?

I posted a reply to your thread about the ich on the pleco. I suggested a few meds as well and treatment options. MARACIDE being you are on this side of the pond. There are MANY meds but this one I Highly recommend and have used for years.
