White spots on oscar

I happened to notice a couple of white spots on my oscar's pectoral fins today, and it looks exactly like ich to me
Where he got it, I'll never know... the new fish I just added to his tank was quarantined beforehand (and was healthy to begin with... I've never seen any signs of illness in the tank he was in at my LFS.) Maybe it came in with the ghost shrimp I bought him a few days ago

My question is, what do you think is the best way for me to treat this? My oscar is in a tank with live plants, some clown loaches, and a blood parrot/midas...thing. Since there aren't many spots yet, should I just up the temperature to 86 and see if that clears it up? Should I add salt, or do you think chemicals would be better? If I treat with salt/chemicals, should I do the whole tank, or separate the oscar for treatment?? Amazingly, I've never had ich before, so I'm not completely sure how to deal with this

Upping the temp won't treat ich-it just speeds up the lifecycle so the ich will be free swimming which is the time they will be affected by the treatment. Other than that I don't know but there's a sticky in one of the forums about ich that might be helpful.

Keep in mind too that the loaches are very sensitive to medications and can't really tolerate salt (at least not in quantities needed to treat ich).

I would treat the whole tank.

The last time I had ich, I used Jungle ich Clear Tank Buddies:

I was treating a heavily planted 10g that had Kuhlis, ottos, and pygmie corys.

The ich was gone in 3 days. No fish loss.

i got something called Nox-Ich, which is basically green malachite

dropped in 1 drop for every 2 gallons since the label said to put ont drop per gallon, and half if you have scaleless fish. Did that 4 consecutive days and ich was gone for good

just remove your carbon insert if you have one otherwise it will absorb the medication

I use betta care white spot it works great on my oscars and doesnt harm my ghost knife at all.

Thanks guys! I'll probably go with the Jungle ich Clear Tank Buddies, since I know my LFS carries that
Edit: I added some Jungle Ich Clear Tablets, and so far the only difference I see is that my sand is now blue!

not really when u spend alot of money on a new tank, its not very sweet at all
