White Spot

I don't think the temperature gauge on your heater being a little off indicates that it's faulty at all. From what I understand it's pretty standard for them to be a little inaccurate. Just use your tank thermometer as a guide and set the heater appropriately.

I don't think is faulty, really more a case of I cannot use the scale on the heater to accurately set the heat and as you've stated I do indeed use the glass thermometer. I just think that if the other heater has a accurate digital display built in I would personally prefer that as it's less hit & miss then adjusting my current heater and then waiting to see what the temp changes to on the glass thermometer!

I use two of these---> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Aquarium-LCD-Digital-Thermometer-Fish-Tank-Water-/130591790440?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Fish&hash=item1e67e09568

One below my outlet and one below my inlet. Very reliable bits of kit, but make sure the 'probes' do not contain any copper..your shrimp will hate you for it!!!

Terry.

Just a quick update, the white spot seems to have cleared up

. I dosed the second lot of med in yesterday (as per instruction on bottle). So all being well after the next couple of days when should I gradually reduce the temp back down? In a couple of days?

I would have thought it would be as long as the course of meds? Or are they capable of medicating at normal, lower temperatures? It would be great if the more knowledgable could comment on this...it would be interesting to see exactly what you have done correctly to, so far, clear up the ich :good:
What temp does the med suggest? Is it usually good advice?

Terry.

Thanks for the replies

. The instructions doesn't say anything about raising or lowering the temp and all seems good in the tank so I'll gradually reduce temp down over the next few days.
