I have been trying to clear up a complaint my catfish has . At first I thought it was white spot but then this looked more like velvet from the description of the disease .
I bought some silver mollies (5) and after a few days I was down to 3 . Then I lost a borneo sucker and now my catfish is suffering .
On closer inspection of the remaining mollies after the first 2 died , I decided that they had a touch of white spot . Also my female dwarf guarami also looked like she had a couple of spots .
I added some eSHa 2000 which is a general purpose bug killer . That seemed to clear up the spots on the mollies and guarami .
Then I noticed that my catfish had the spots . Again I treated with the eSHa 2000 and it seemed to die down a little . Then a light film started to cover him .
This time I got some eSHa EXIT which is an all spot and velvet stopper . I have now treated the tank for 3 days with this product now but I am still worried .
As you can see from the pictures he as lost part of one of his whiskers and his eyes look cloudy . His fins are beginning to shred and he will not stop swimming . He always hid before and we never saw him . Now he is constanley in the light and open . Also I do not know if he is eating either .
I recently bought a little live breeder box and have just been able to get him into it .
I just do not know where to go from here .
The water according to my LFS is in the middle of the limits for everything . The tank is 5 x 2 x 2 and there are a good few companions who appear to be ok (fingers crossed) .
12 neons
7 harlequins
5 black widow tetras
1 borneo sucker
3 silver mollies
4 swordtails
male and female dwarf guaramis
7 guppies
Any advice would be gratefully received thankyou .
I could only seem to add one picture . What am I doing wrong ?
Another shot
And another
