Hi,

one of the neon tetra fishes that I have in my tank has a white spot on its eye and i am pretty sure it can't see with it... but its other eye looks healthy

It hasn't speard to any of the other fish and its doing fine eating but its quite lazy.... Its had the white spot on its eye for some time now and it don't seem to be hurting the fish..

I am just wondering... will the fish live with it and be fine... and will the white spot on its eye spread? :(

Thanks.... No need for urgent action... ( I don't think!) -_-

Sometimes whitespots on the eye can be a parasite.

hi,

would that slowly kill it? Also would it speard to another fish?

I hope NOT :(

Best bet is to phone the lfs up and ask if they have anything for eye parasites, as they can get eye flukes, all parasites will spread might be best to issolate the fish while you can get a med for the parasite, if you can issolate the fish try a teaspoon of salt, and yes you can use very small doses of salt on neons, as parasites tend not to like salt in the tank.

Hiya..

Thanks.. I might not.. I no its mean to the fish but he seems to be doing ok... i will leave it for now and when i next go to the pet store i will ask about it :)

Ok that's fine, you could issolate the fish and try a teaspoon of salt that might solve the problem without med, and slightly turn temp up abit.
