Poor little mite.
I can't see the purple on the fish scales. Just keep an eye on the gills.
As if they turn purple you need to do an immediate water change. Also if they start to gasp, or signs of laboured breathing.

When do you finish medication treatment?
As I think I would maybe change to another brand of whitespot medication.
Interpet anti whitespot medication is good.

The medication nis finished and cannot redose till 7 days (Friday)
Interpet Anti white spot is what I used.

Will keep an eye on them and do another water change first thing in the morning.

Cheers Wilder

Sorry. I went and looked what brand of med you was using.

Gravel vac and water change.
Add new filter floss.
Add new black carbon. Run carbon for 24 hours. Take carbon out.
Water change. Start treatment again.
This time I would add the full dose. Or just abit less. More than half dose.

Well, Just got up and looked and one of the sharks is dead (the bigger one). Should I put the other out of it's misery. Think I should have done that to the bigger one yesterday, it must of had a terrible night. was just floating upside down on the top this morning, not breathing.

Think I will put the other shark in clove oil solution, do a big water change then keep my fingers crissed and hope for the best (but won't until I get your advice).
Have run out of filter floss. Ordered more last week along with new carbon, so hopefully will turn up today.

Thanks for all your advice with this Wilder, would have been totally alone without it.

Am so pi**ed off with that LFS, am so tempted to go in there and have a row.

So sorry. :rip:
You usually know deep down when it time to step in.
Even if you do put the fish out of it's misery the tank still needs another round of treatment. Just to make sure the parasite has been eradicated from the tank.
It's your choice. Hard one to make. So I do how you feel.

I was lucky only ever had to treat for whitespot once. All my fish survived.

Have done it already...was really hard, but had to do it. Do you think I should redose now?
It said on the bottle redose after 7 days, which is Friday

Not nice I know. R.I.P.

Have you run some fresh black carbon for 24 hours?

OK.
I wouldn't start the med till black carbon has been run for a least 24 hours.

How are the other fish in the tank?

All the other fish are fine, except the last cardinal tetra...he is the only one with white spot.

Will I need more carbon after running it for 24 hours (do I throw the new one away)?

Yes throw it away after using it. Carbon only effective for 2 to 9 days.

Than preform a water change after removing black carbon. Redose the medication.
Don't forget to raise temp. Increase aeration.

Thanks. Then after 2nd dose, do I then need to insert another carbon into both filters?
Or can I just leave out the carbon

Once you finished the med course you preform another water change. Add new black carbon to filter again.
Lower temp.

I bet you spend quite abit of money on black carbon.

Cheers Wilder. All seems good in the tank at the moment. Even the Tetra's holding his own. Hopefully the carbon arrives today and I'll treat the tank again.
Will keep you informed.

Well, that's the last of the affected fish (I think). The cardinal tetra was dead in the tank when I came home from work today.

The carbon STILL hasn't arrived. Will get onto the shop tomorrow adn find out what's going on.

All the other fish appear fine. Should I still redose?

Cheers
