We found out that one of our fish had white spot on it, I wern't sure what to do as we had fry in the main tank at the time so we put half a dosage of white spot treatment in, We pulled the fry out of the tank and put it in our breeding tank we didn't see no white spot on the fish no more we thought that it was cured, A few days later we found more of our fish had white spot but we had newly hatched fry in the tank so we tried using Aquarium Salt instead to cure the white spot and put the temperature up.

A few more of our fish have white spot only one of them looks quite bad though, We can't pull our fry out yet because they are too young and protected by the Honduran Pair in a cave what we can't get to. For the last 2 days we've cleaned the tank and put Aquarium Salt in the tank again but it hasn't done much.

Today we tried putting a full dosage of white spot remover in the tank, It says 4 days later is when we should redose when should we start seeing the effects of the remover the fish is getting worse, A Platy in our tank seems to have what looks like fungus on it's head and we know we can't use 2 treatments at the same time, We did a 50% water change 2 days ago then a 25% water change yesterday both with aquarium salt and put temperature up.

How do you think we should go about this?

Can provide more information and pics/vids if needed.

Woke up this morning with 1 Black Neon Tetra dead and 2 other tetra's severely fin rotted.

I don't know what to do, We have nearly every treatment possible but only using 1 at a time is a hinderance on fixing this situation.

Please help.

increase temp to 27 for now.. water change 50% every other day.. i am not sure about the meds..

Just looked at my tank we got fry free swimming now, I woke up this morning depressed about losing fish now this i dunno if be happy or sad!

Not sure if to take the fry out as soon as possible, The Honduran's may not be able to keep control of the fry as we have a big tank but a lot of crazy fish.

Wilder might be able to help you;

He will ask you for

water perameters
Stocking
Tank Size
What medication you are using

Pictures will help too. Whitespot needs to be treated for atleast 7-14 days after the last signs of the disease have left the fish. The parasites will stay in the tank for 1-2 weeks after fish appear to be cured; which is why you need to keep up the treatment.

I was told to bump up my temperature to 28-30 as this quickens the cycle up.

In the tank we have;

3 Corys
2 Honduran Red Points
5 Angels
2 Festive Cichlid
1 Rainbow Shark
About 10 Platy's
5 Black Neon Tetra's
1 Male Siamese Fighter
3 Female Siamese Fighters
1 Albino Bristlenose Plec
2 Ram's
3 Gourami's
And about 40 hrp free swimming fry

Not sure on the water quality, Need get a new testing kit we clean everything out regularly though.

we did the 50% water change with salt then 25% with salt then used anti white spot with another 25% change.

We bumped temperature up to 30 a few days ago

Our tank is 4x1x1.5

We did have a hospital tank but we changed it into a breeding tank as we've never really had any fish get ill as we've been very careful, I think everything has stemmed from when we got the 2 ram's.

A few fish acting weird, Male Fighter's mouth looking a bit paler like white ish from grey.

Old female krib stationary instead of annoying the honduran's and looks a bit paler.

A few lost fin's to some fish, I think this is to do with going so close to the breeding Honduran's.

To add a bit of good news into the thread here's a video of the free swimming fry

Congratulations on the fry; you need to get a test kit as soon as, especially with the fry, evne the smallest changes in water conditions could harm them, i think most people would recommend the API Master Test Kit - i think you can get it from ebay for around £20.

Im new to fish keeping so im not sure what you should do. I have whitespot in my tank just now and was advised to bump temperature up to 30, continue interpet whitespot treatment and use a bacterial medication (pimafix).

Thanks, I would like to use Melafix and Anti white spot same time, Do you know if this is possible?

Really need to know if i can use anti white spot and fungus medicine like melefix etc. at the same time.
