Hi,, this is the first time i've had to ask a question on this forum as the answers i want are usually documented..
My black molly has had 1 white spot on his head for about a month now. I was going to treat it for white spot but after looking at white spot pics i'm pretty sure its not that as it hasnt spread at all. I've seen a product called protozin which deals with white spot, oodinium, costiasis, and fungus but dont know if to use it as the molly seems ok and acting normal, also none of the other 8 fish in the tank are fine,,,, shall i leave it or shall i treat it just incase???
The white spot is a bit bigger than a pin head and slightly raised, more like a little growth....
Thanks for any response

could you get a pic? that would speed up identification :good:
i took some pics, not very clear though but i can work out how to move them from my folder to this page.. i went to insert image and it wants a webb address not a folder...

are you sure its not a scale that's come lose(they do shed the random scale now and then) and is reflecting the light making it appear white on a black fish.
only one spot in a month id suspect is just a scale out of whack. if it were whitespot or another disease/parastie, surely shed have more by now.
are other fish in the tank affected by anything.
i wouldnt worry outrightly, as its been a month and only has one. could also be a scar from somethng.
cheers
