White Patches On Apple Snail's Shell

for my snails I use a small bit of cuttlefish/cuttle bone weighed down and my snails do actually eat it (people say it jsut dissolves into the water) - mine dissolves and gets eaten. I was also recommended crab cuisine for the snails - its made for crabs but has lots of calcium in to make nice strong shells. Well I bought one packet to try it and the snails love it (as does my now-podgy fish). I'll definitely be buying more.

Thanks for the suggestions. I dunno which to try now lol. The tums sound good but would that hurt my fish? The crab cuisine sounds good too will prob get that. I'm not sure on the cuttlefish now? Should I or shouldn't I?

I had tums in with sword fish,neons and didt do any harm but as breed snails my tanks are snail only now. I tried cuttle bone once and didt look the look of it plus having to weight it down was hassle. The cuttle bone dissolving in the water can be a good thing as long as doesnt alter the water stats.

Which ever one works for you

If you notice the water getting cloudy, remove the cuttlebone, try out half a tum and see how it goes, try the crab food (thats what i would go for)
