Hello

I haven't had the time to clean the glass for a while and some white things appeared on it. The water turned white so I changed all the water and added safestart (a product that I bought a long time ago/i'm familiar with the product it works well!) The water was clear again and after a while it turned white again I believe it is because I did not clean the gravel and the product contained white residue in it(it was old).

What i can do please?

Here my parameters (strip test jbl)

Nitrates 50 (i have planned to put a product to reduce that)
nitrites 0
GH >14
KH 6
ph 7.2
cl 0

Thanks in advance

smell the water if it smells funky then there is something rotting in there and that may also be causing an algae bloom

Sounds like bacterial bloom, in an uncycled tank....you need the liquid test kit, strips aren't accurate, especially if they are aged...what is your reading for ammonia?

It doesn't smell

Sorry but i don't have Ammonia test...but since there is 0 nitrite i think there is no ammonia
because it's like this Nh3 ->N02 ->N03

Today i have bought Easy balance (tetra) , it reduces nitrates.I have put it into the tank and i'm waiting for results
You think i have to wash the gravel now?
If it's a bacteria bloom ,can it attain a balance while the fishes are in it? (the parameters are going to be okay with the product, "easy balance ", i have turned the outlet pipe upward so there is more oxygen but i don't know if it's enough)

The tank is cycled(normally) i have used safestart it permits to change all the water without the need to wait(i already used that before and it works well)

Is there any use to turn off the light???

Get the proper test kit, and test for ammonia, then we will know how to proceed...no need in introducing more chemicals/products into the tank at this point, probably just a waste of $

then probably an algae/bacteria/fungus bloom

Can i wait until it goes /attain a balance? it's not dangerous for the fishes?

Before adding anything try a simple fix first. Do a water change. A partial water change should be done wekly to keep mineral and nutrient levels in the water stable. I do a 50% water change once a week. Some do more than 50%. But most are probably doing 30 to 50% once a week. In my opinion anything less than 30% of your tank water once per week is probably not going to keep mineral and nutrient levels stable.
