Ive got a 4 redtail tinfoil barbs and 1 has what looks like a small piece of cotton wool over one of its eyes.

Ive only had my tank for about a week and it doesnt look like its been cleaned in a couple of weeks, so ive cleaned the tank and filter. Im not sure about m ammonia, nitrate levels etc but im getting a tester kit tomorrow to check.

Ive read this could be a number of things, fish could have hit it, could be an infection from the dirty tank?

Without ammonia numbers etc is there anything anyone could suggest?

Thanks

Wow, that's really sticking out. Could be a fungus, but it could also be columnaris I suppose. Not very helpful I know. This looks like a place where a microscope would be handy. Any other fish have any signs of problems?
