This channa is a stunning fish, the reason on the unsure id is that i got 3 1 turned out being a variant of channa punctata,1 channa sp. platinum and this one is smaller so harder to tell but looks more like the sp. platinum and is just pure white.
the tail was bitten off over a month ago by the other sp. platinum, completely off! the tail, which i thought would never have a chance of growing back, is growing back, not perfectly, but its there. its just sat in a tank on its own at the moment as i have tried to re-introduce it into the big tank with the other one on numerous occasions but they have no chance of getting along!
I feed it lance fish and prawns and similar, it should net be kept with anything much smaller than its self, i feed it lance fish the same size as its self and it rips them to bits before they even leave my fingers and swallows them whole.
it will not tolerate other channa, it will grow to around 10 inch so will need to be kept with fish at least7-8 inch i would think.
i want it to go to a nice home as its really beautiful but just not fair on it at the moment as its all alone and just sat around bored!
the fish which ever sp. it is, is worth more but with the tail as it is, i couldn't really ask for much more, there is a possibility it will grow back close to normal but is likely to be deformed, swims perfectly and eats like a wolf!
