I HAVE PLATY FRY!!!!!!!!!!! EIGHT OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's the story:
So, I was vacuuming some gravel tonight and a little fry got sucked part way into the tube. It took me awhile to catch him. After I caught him, I put him in a bowl (temporarily) and then searched for more. Shortly after I found two more. By the time I finished cleaning gravel/checking the tank, I had seven. Then I finished changing water in tanks. I put one of my Bettas in to my 10 gallon tank. While watching the Betta, I found *another* fry!! I managed to get him moved out before the Betta ate him. I took lots of pictures of the fry in the bowl (I'll upload them in awhile), and then set up the breeder tank/net for them and put them all in there. They look like they're a little older. They're not newly-born. They have a yellow-orange tint to them.
I have no idea which fish is the mommy. I have one male and one female Platy. Female Platy never looked very pregnant. She isn't one of the one's I'm expecting to give birth soon.
Since I had the one gallon free, I decided to move the aggressive male into it. Now my female can swim around without fear of being chased Makes for a happy fish.
The Betta thinks those fry in the breeder net look pretty tasty. He's having a good time swimming around and checking every thing out. Happy fish
I'm just so excited!!!!
Edit: Forgot to note... Earlier today I was watching my fish. I thought I saw a baby fish, but then couldn't find it, so I figured it was just some sort of debris in the water, like a leaf or something. Guess it *was* a baby fish! LOL
