wouldnt say it was a bad smell
not fishy
not off
but there is a definate odour from the tank
is this normal?
the tank is near the door and it can be noticeable when you enter the room

is it just due to the moisture?
there are a couple of plants in there
levels are ok

Some odor from the water is normal but it should not be noticable unless you are standing right over the tank with the cover open. Mine smells umm like a light musky smell..say similar to walking in the woods near a stream after a good rain..it's not a unpleasant smell at all.

Try an extra water change and keep a close eye on your water prams, if all is well with the water the smell should go away with the water change. Good Luck

I can barely smell anything in my tank unless I practically stick my nose in it and snort it up.

A foul smell for a tank is like, nasty old peanut butter or rotten eggs. Its pretty easy to tell when your tank smells wrong

A couple of possibilities is infrequent water changes or not gravel cleaning good enough, cheaper foods or meaty foods.
