I'm planning on getting a tank with around 70% carpeting, and I'm wondering which plant for carpet. I want a plant that doesn't require CO2 or extra fertilizer.
Thanks for any and all help.

Only option is moss really or riccia

Java moss works wonders

Java moss tends to be very untidy looking, fissidens, xmas, weeping and peacock moss are much tidier to the eye. They grow slower but look much better :). Riccia is ok if you like the maintenance side of it.

I have a low tech (no CO2) tank & am successfully growing echinodorus tenellus and sagittaria subulata. The ech.tenellus in particular is throwing out runners left right & centre, but they're both doing great. :D
