Watch out for lyretail males with extremely large over-developed gonopodium. Though they may be prettier, they sometimes have difficulty breeding. You can, however, breed lyretail females with non-lyretail males to produce lyretail offspring.

Cool when do they start to develop their colour?

Almost immediately. They are a bit faint to start off with, but within a few days I can tell what the nicer colours are.
As they get to a couple of weeks old, you can really get a good idea of how they will look as adults

i'd go for sword tails in a big tank, they can grow like 5 inches and have loads of fry which on the whole is cooler for a bigger tank imo

I already have swordies. and i don't like guppies anymore they die 2 easily
