Shortly getting a further 350 litre tank and thinking of going for something big maybe just 3 or 4 and a cat or two for the bottom. Want something with a bit of character but don't fancy oscars.
All suggestions welcome.

What about spiny eels? A fire eel or a couple of peacock eels would go nice. Unless you're looking for acutal swimming fish. Any particular region fish? African Cichlid or South American Cichlid?

A Black Knife Ghost just might fit in there.

Yes, looking for 'swimming' fish, not fussy on region.

Some Banded Leopornius could work, as for big brutes there are Red Star Flowerhorn Cichlids, Peacock Bass, Uaru Cichlid, Electric Blue Jack Dempsey (all jack's work), Green Terror, Cornish Jack, or a Pink Tail Chalceus would look nice :good:

Uarus, aren't aggressive and he already has some in another tank and the tank is to small for most leporinus, peacock bass and cornish jacks. It's only 90 gallons roughly.
Come on Crossfire, I thought you spent all your free time here.

What are the exact dimensions of the tank? That would help with ideas. Do you want a community or are you ok with just one fish?

Its 48 x 24 x20 and just a cat and a couple of others would be good but I'm open really.
Thanks

Cool. How about a Lima shovelnose cat, one of the bichirs and for some color a thread fin acara?

The internet also says aliens are stealing energy from the sun...
Sorry Crossfire, I'm just giving you a hard time. But yeah, most of those fish get well over two feet and would be cramped in a 300 gallon.

all depends on what type of uaru there are 2 types the expencive one uaru.f and the normal uaru.a

if it was me and as you have 2 tanks i would spend the money on the more expencive uaru.f they sell for about £35-67 each depending on were you get them from

the uar.f are one of the nices looking cichlids around

i had a shoal of 14 x uaru.f go on you tube and type uaru.f to the max and you will see mine

What about doing a trio of the Lima Shovel Noses and a herd of Geophagus or Satanoperca. You could team it up with a group of Marbled Headstanders and perhaps a nice Plec, one of the larger ones maybe an L152 or if you can push the budget an L95?

I would love a set up like

5 Satanoperca Lucostica
8-10 Marbled Headstanders
3 Lima Shovel Noses
1 L152
