Well, what kinds of live food would depend on the species of fish you are trying to breed. Generally speaking, I believe that almost all fish will eat live brine shrimp. They aren't too hard to raise and there are many good guides as to how to do it on the internet.

There are more options available, but not all live foods are suitable to all fish.

i have rosy tetras, scarlet tetras, corys, halfbeaks, otos and soon to get apistogrammas, what would be the best live food to feed these fish.

Good LFS's will have live foods, so check there first. Absent that a good ol' ebay and internet search couldn't hurt. You can probably also obtain live foods from hobbyists in the classifieds forum as well.

I have raised mosquito larvae, daphnia, gammarus, and baby brine shrimp, and I think the easiest is daphnia and gammarus, which do fine under the same conditions. Beware that gammarus may eat moss, plants, and shrimplets if they get loose in your main tank, so you might want to kill them first.
