So I'm gonna be buying an aquarium and i want to know which is the best filter. I only know the tetra filters but is there better?

I've got an interpet PF2 and I really like it. It's easy to set up and easy to clean. It cost me £18 and the sponges are around £2 or £3 for a box of two.

Go external and noting comes close to the Ehiem classic range. Ehiem 2213/2215/2217 sturdy and oh so whisper quiet!

Ahem... Tetratec ex1200. :D

lol I had a tetratec it was my first ever external filter. I hated that joint and bought a eheim 2215 to replace it, and I'm never going back. the two are worlds apart imo

If its external go for JBL e700, for the reasonable price you get the biggest capacity, total silence, excellent flow, adjustable flow and brilliant quality (its a real high tech bit of kit).

Have you considered HOB filters, the EHEIM Liberty range is fantastic.

Internally, I back Fluval, the U2 is a great bit of kit.

Got myself a tetratec ex700 for my 20g last week just to see why people was so 'team tetratec', im joining the team now :good:
Used to run a fluval U3 internal for my 20g a while back and it done the job but they take up alot of room.
