I had an external flash (sb800) at top of tank, to bounce light around inside the tank, instead of firing "in their face"

Manual settings below.
Think I shot with focus priority, single focus not continuous focus mode.

Method:
Have a Bristlenose to keep inside of glass squeaky clean.
Clean outside of glass with Microfibre cloth.
Only follow the fish around with the camera who are about an inch or two from the glass.
Shoot a few hundred photos until you finally get a decent one

i tried making a sand cave with pvc, but it looks rubbish

think i put too much aquarium silicon on it in the end....have u got a picture of yours eagleaquarium?

Sorry, my skills with a camera are SORELY lacking compared to your shot, so I won't even try to compete with that. The "cave" is about as easy as can be.


1) Take a large piece of slate
2) Break into smaller pieces (roughly 5 inches x 8 inches x 1/4-1/2 inch)
3) Lean one piece into second piece - bury into sand.
4) Cories will dig out the cave the rest of the way - with a little (or lot) of help from BN pleco.

That's it. So, its more of a "lean-to" than a cave, but they excavated it out the rest of the way. No silicone used - just basic physics (that's my field, so why not use it to my advantage).
