Which Foods Do You Use?

Hi Guys,

What foods do you use and with what species?

Are there any foods on the market you would just NOT use ?

Do any of the fish food on the shelves we can buy cause more pollution to the tank than others if we over feed a little , or sits unfed in the tank and gets missed in a hoover cleanup?

i mainly use frozen live foods

a special mix for the cichlids
red mozzie larvae for the community tank and
brine shrimp for the fry




i only give this a few times a week. during the rest of the time they (community) have flakes, cucumber, maggots etc, the oscars have pellets, peas, prawns, flies, spiders ,worms etc whatevers available! the fry have crushed flake, crushed snails or cucumber

i woulnt use cheap ebay high protein pellets, what a mess they make of the water

but other than that im with spishkey EXCEPT for maggots flies lol

i have a community tank with mainly angels,a couple gouramis,danios and some large catfish..

i use tetra pro colour crisp flakes for the majority of fish and then jmc catfish sinking pellets for the bottom dwellers, i very rarely use live foods if i do i use the tetra fresh delica range which comes in sachets-therefore no need to handle it!

Tetra Verity Wafers
King British Tropical Flakes
PPI Freeze Dried Bloodworms
PPI Freeze Dried Tubifex
Fresh Veg (mainly courgette for the Flash Pleco and Redtail Shark)

I have been using the Tetramin flakes as they seem to keep the water clear and float for a while which is good for my gouramis and harliquins.

for the plec and pictus king British Algae wafers and plec tablets. loved by all my fish...

Feed my freshwater fish:

TetraColor Flakes
Freeze Dried Mysis or Brine Shrimp
Frozen Brine Shrimp

I feed my Saltwater tank:
ORA Glow Pellets
Omega One Flakes
Formula One Frozen
Frozen Brine Shrimp

I feed my tetras and guppies

freeze dried blood worms
sprilunia flakes
hikari micro pellets

my cories get shrimp pellets

i feed my general community on tetra pro colour flakes tetra prima ( little red sinking pellets) and my plecco gets tetra plecco wafers and cucumber and every sunday i give them a mix of daphnia and bloodworm and occaisionally i give them a week when i just give livefood 3 times just to give them a bit of a change

Tetra flake food. (daily staple)
Frozen Brine shrimp (every other day)
Algae wafers for the Bristle nose and bottom dwellers.
Live brine shrimp when I can get them.
