A dwarf plec is also called an Ancistrus ( I think they're one and the same), they grow to about a max of 3". If you buy bogwood and put it into your tank then it will discolour the water, you want to either soak it in a bucket for a few days (preferably a week) or the other option is if the LFS has got some wood already in a tank you can buy that. This is quite a good option because you can often get the bogwood with something like java fern or java moss growing on it.
