Hello Everyone,

I have a 165L aqua one cube tank that has been up and running since the beginning of February. I will mention, that I bought mature media from my LFS as it was an emergency to get my tank up and running. My previous tank had "an accident" that ended up with all of my fish (and all the tank water) dumped onto my sitting room floor!

Right now, I have 2 blue dwarf gourami's, 2 red dwarf gourami's, 1 dalmation molly, 1 calico molly, 1 guppy, 1 swordtail, 3 golden pristella tetras, 3 white cloud mountain minnows & 1 julii cory. So by my calculations I still have 25 inches of fish I could possibly add to my tank, or 5-6 fish depending on size.

I was going to get a discus, because they are soo colorful, but my local city counsil often adds massive amounts of chlorine to our water scheme... I do dechlor the water for water changes... but I know that discus fish are so very sensative.

I am looking for a show piece fish... something either extremely colorful or a bit of an oddball that will be peaceful in a community. And because I have a rather large tank I would be looking for a larger fish than, let's say a molly or platty. I love the knifefish... but I know they are pretty aggressive and my tux guppy would be no more. I like clown loaches as well but they are better with sand substrate aren't they?

Anyone any ideas?

Also, I have gravel substrate and recently built a slate cave to put in the tank. Because my tank is cube, I haven't a lot of aquarium floor space. If I put a slate cave that cover 1/4 of the tank floor... is that bad? It is heavy and I won't be able to move it to vaccuum the gravel underneath. Is that something I should consider not putting in the tank?

hmmm, you could look at peaceful cichlids, - keyholes, kribs, rams, or maybe angel fish, they tend to mix well with communities. I think you will have trouble finding a peaceful, not too big oddball.

You could maybe look at something like a elephant fish, i dont know alot about them but im fairly sure theyre nice and ok. Also killifish, if they count as oddballs :/
