Hello all.

Which fish should go in which tank?

I have a 20 high, a 10, and a 5.5. All with over-filtering and small amount of live plants.

Current fish owned:
7 Albino Cories (Most peaceful things on Earth, I think!)

7 Platies (Peaceful.)

6 Gold Barbs (Very peaceful, even though for some reason, people think simply because they're barbs, they're violent.)

5 Tiger Barbs (Seem to be peaceful with American Flag Fish, they all hang out together.)

2 American Flag Fish (When the male was solo and with Albino Cories, he picked on them, so I don't know if they could work together now that the male has a companion?)

1 Dwarf Gourami (Peaceful)

1 Golden Wonder Killifish (A bit territorial, but nothing scary.)

1 Shrimp (Amano, but was sold as "Marbled". Is very skiddish.)

So, who should go where?

I'd do

20g
5 tiger barbs
2 flag fish

10g
5 cories
3 platies

5.5g
dwarf gourami
killifish
3 amano shrimp

because the flag fish can be agressive, put them in with the tiger's which also can, you said they're mates anyway, then I'd just get rid of the gold barbs cos there isn't room for them anywhere

the cories and platy's should keep well out of each others way and not bother anyone, although in a 10g tank I'd maybe just keep 5 cories and 3 platy's as it would be overstocked with all of them in there.

so that leaves the DG, killi and shrimp for the little tank, the shrimps are shy, you'd see more of them if there's nothing to threaten them and also if you maybe got another 2 so it had some friends. I don't know much about killi's so I'm just assuming it'd be fine in that tank, someone may be able to correct me.

the bottom line however is you have aprox 60" of fish there (not too sure on some sizes so guessed a little) but only room for 35.5"

with the suggested stocking above you've about 40" of fish, slightly overstocked but with good maintenance it'd be fine.

:)
