I have just bought a fluval 405 and not really impressed with it especially as its leaking tried every way to put the lid on and seal it but still it leaks which doesnt fill you with confidence.
i have a vision 180 so can only fit certain filters in the cabinet so thinking TMC V2 powerbox 400 £100 or superfish aqua pro 600 £70 but never heard of either and cant find any reviews so if anyone has any experience with these filters any help would be appreciated.

failing that there is a jbl 1500 on ebay but it would be a tight fit.

thanks mark

have you looked at rena xp series filters? very easy to maintain and very reliable :good:

Eheim's Classic series is always my choice for reliability and is within your price range. I bought one of these second hand last week and the filter is at least 21 years old, yet it looks and works as if I bought it brans new from the shop. Eheim still sell spare parts for this model as it is in their current range and even when a series is no longer part of the current range, they continue to sell spare parts for it for many years.

If you have spare cash lying around, I do recommend Eheim's Professional 3e range (either of the smaller two will filter the tank well), it is much fancier and runs completely silent, if set up correctly.

Thanks for the reply

i did have a 2215 but didnt like having no baskets it was a nuisance when cleaning having to empty all the media out i may just put a filter next to the tank then my options are better

Ah, you might want to have a look at them again.. I think starting from 2213 or 2215 and up, they now all have removable baskets for the media, or so some promo photos tell me. 2211 might be the only model left without the baskets (but they appear to come with a mesh thing for putting the media into).

had a look and as far as i can see there is one big basket that sits inside the canister. i think its still better to have a few baskets for different media

thanks

i have 2 xp3's that have been running silently and without fault, cant really fault them tbh :good:
