I have just purchased a 90" X 27" X 24" tank as an upgrade from my current 4ft and would welcome advice and recommendations on filters/pumps/UVs/heaters. It will be used for plecs and corydoras principally, plus platys and some tetras.

Many thanks,

Elaine

Hey
wow thats sounds like one big tank, I've calculated it to be 956litres (252USG). If it were me I'd go for something like the fluval FX5 external filter and 3 300w heaters, The FX5 is fine for tanks upto 1500 so is more than capable of keeping your tank in great condition

i wouldnt go with the FX5 , although i own one , i would not buy another one as i feel they are a cheap budget filter and in the future i am not going to cut corners with the filtration - it is in fact the most inportant part of your tank!

I would go with the eheim pro 3s, either two 2080s or 2 2180s (which have built in 500w heaters)

i have heared very good reports on the pro 3 range,

Good luck, Adam

I love my Fx5.

The FX5 is fine for tanks upto 1500 so is more than capable of keeping your tank in great condition

Maybe if it actually pumped out 900 GPH and held over 20L of media like the booklet says. I wouldn't put a Fx5 on a 200 Gallon alone for what its got.

Thanks for the suggestions - it is, indeed, a rather huge tank! I was thinking of running two pumps as then, if one fails for any reason, I havn't lost everything.
