EHEIM ECCO 2234 or
EHEIM 2224

Is there any difference, apart from price and design ? Ease of use ?

Thanks

Without a doubt the 2224  I spoke in lenght to my lfs about the differences and got full demo's on both. In the end I bought the 2224 and it's a dream
BUT that said - they are now slowly being replaced with the Prof II range and you might find little price difference in the newer range. Check it out.

I have read that one or two folk are having problems with the pro's.... breaking bits off seems popular ! So after a visit to "Wharf Aquatics" just off J28 M1 I came home with a 2234.... its 4 times the size I was expecting !!!!! They dont look anywhere THAT big on Ebay !!! LOL :hyper:
It must hold 100 times more media than my old internal filter, yet uses LESS power ! bonus !
Looks a "proper mesters" bit of kit....

-_- I've actually heard exactly the opposite. The ECCO range being the one that more often breaks bits etc.
But that said - any Eheim is probably going to be better than most other "average" filter brands out there.
And they are just so much bigger than I ever imagined they'd be :hyper:

I've got 1 of each. Go with the 2224, it's a better filter.

I'd go for either an Eheim Classic Cannister (2213/2215/2217 - I rate these very highly) or go for one of the bottom of the range Pro-2s.
