The 2 best bits of advice I can give you is spend as much as you can on filtration, it's the most important piece of kit you'll buy, the 2nd is always go for a more powerful filter than you actually need ( i.e if your tank is 55 gal go for a filter that's suitable for a 70 gal tank ).
I will always recommend Eheim, IMO they are the best on the market, nothing comes close, but they are more expensive. If £80 is your MAX then THIS filter will do you just fine, and leave you a tenner for media. Hope this helps.
