i say that each brand is good on certain products and bad on others. but overall, i'd say marineland and all-glass (not hagen, now oceanic) are good brands.

To back up wolf all custom made tanks are better than all the off the shelf setup out there.

Yes and be wary of AquArt... I've had 3 tanks spring leaks....

Go custom made or, buy stand/tank/hood seperate.

I prefer Rena for my tanks. They can be source quite cheep if you shop around on the internet.

Failing that Custom made tanks and stands. Cant beat getting exactly what you want.

Aqua one tanks are my favorite, I love the rounded glass corners. Distort the fish a little but I still loved them.
