I have a spare 20 litre tank and I would like to set it up as a crab tank. I've looked at red clawed crabs but they seem to be mainly land crabs and I'd rather have something that would spend most of its time in the water. Would be cool if I could keep it with a couple of fish too. Any suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated.

you can get the fiddler crabs they are inexpensive and they are fun to watch. the only problem is that you must have a way for them to get to the air to breath and dry out their shells

Air to breath? dry out? we talking about Fiddler crabs?

Fiddlers are just as terrestrial as Redclaw crabs. they don't breath air (they have gills. well hobby trade Fiddlers do), and need to keep damp.

@ Shred. truth is there are few, if any, Crabs in the freshwater trade, that are totally, or even mostly, aquatic. you need to go for Marine for them.

Thai micro crabs would be great in a tank of their own, I love mine in my shrimp tank but hardly see them because of the size of it.

Set up the 20L with a sponge filter and some floating plants, and see if they'll breed. You could even be the first to raise the babies to adults!
