I have to decided to give rare livebearers a try. I've done some research and found that the Eastern Mosquitofish is my best bet (aka Dwarf Mosquito Fish Heterandria formosa ) I've done my research on it and found it is native to where I live. So I thought I would just go catch some wild ones. The only problem is i've never noticed seeing that type of fish in the lakes/ponds around here ( could be i've seen it and wasn't looking for it so I didn't know that's what it was) I can't find any information on where I could find it in the state I live in. Any ideas on where to look for this fish? also I thought about ordering it but the only option is the western Mosquito Fish which is nonnative. I want to put theses in a pond behind my house and I read that western Mosquito Fish are invasive and mess up the lifestyle of other native fish. Thanks
