Just getting my kit ready to start a well planted tank and getting rid of all the fake rubbish im using to pad out the live ones

Ive been flipping thru fish mags and this forum and seeing loads of plants I like the look of but most of the places I shop for my fish bits generally have the bog standard run of the mill plants.

Where do you lot buy your plants and ferts/soil from. Online places or are there many if any decent plant places round my area.

Im getting jealous of all the decent planted tanks im seeing!

Any help much appreciated chaps.

Cheers.

I'm UK based, but you make no mentione of where in the word you are, so will just assume that you are UK based as well.

I used to get my plants from Greenline, but he has ceased trading now, which pretty much leaves Java and Plants Alive for cheaper plants. For more expensive plants, ferts etc, The Green Machine and Aqua Essentials are fairly good.

As to what is in your area, without knowing where that is, nobody will be able to advise. lol

Cheers chaps.

Im based in Bristol, UK!

Ive always wondered where specialist/different plants came from. Found a few on eBay from abroad but the prices!

You could also look at Birstall. They sell tropica plants which are usually higher quality (AquaEssentials and The Green machine sell these too. TGM actually grow on plants in their own hydroponics setup so you get a stronger more mature plant most of the time).

TGM and AE are very good companies with excellent customer service. I've used both and will continue to do so :)

Last time I bought abroad plants didn't come or came in bad shape. They resend the order that was missing, though. I believe it is best to order from a vendor that is at least in the same country, especially in the summer.

Aqua Essentials or The green Machine for me too. Maidenhead aquatics are good quailty, they get their's form aquafleur
