Where to buy quality fish?

May I also suggest taking a look at zimmermansfish.com or www.aquaculturestore.com for some really awesome native fish if your'e interested in them. Black banded, bluespotted and banded sunfish are all small and beautiful fish. Rainbow darter males and southern redbelly dace are gorgeous as well. And the most commonly kept in US are florida flagfish and bluefin killifish. All hardy, beautiful and fun fish to have.

Yep all north american fish!

That is nuts, all native (north american) fish? Interesting, thanks for that link.

I also heard back from my local Pet Supplies Plus, they are using "Fish Mart": https://www.fishmartinc.com - any input on that company?
I mean. They don't sell to the public, so I'd imagine it'd be hard to get fish directly from them.

Space City Fish is really nice though.

Wherever you shop for fish, look at the tanks carefully, check for any sick fish, clamped fins, and especially any dead fish in the tank. I have found Petco has better looking tanks, generally.

Same here. Petco in my area is much cleaner than petsmart

Pet Supplies Plus here is immaculate. They seem to have really great staff. Never seen such happy parakeets either. I was just wondering if the wholesaler they use has a good rep or not (Fish Mart).
