Where To Buy Aquariums

Hey everyone,

I was wondering, what are the most reliable places online to buy aquariums, plants, hoods, etc? Is buying a 55g tank from a website the smartest thing to do? Or plants?

price comparison sites are very good, i dont know of any places to go or better to avoid but i know when i was lookign for a rio 180 the best price was online and that included the £60 delivery charge!

shop around and most importantly


DON'T FORGET TO BARTER!!!!!!!!

Esp if buying form a lfs your going to be spending alot of your money there in the future and they know it!!!!

I'll never buy a new tank again (unless I'm having a custom one made)

Search eBay and sort by distance
only 2 of our tanks are new... the rest have been a fraction of the cost 2nd hand

If ur getting a complete set up and not saving a deal second hand i would go for new my tank is only 6 months old and ive allready had to fall back onto the guarantee due to the faulty lights... would of cost me £70 ish to buy new if it wasnt covered

Just thinking about it my folks had one made
It was designed to fit in a wall it was/is 4ft wide by 6 foot high and 1 ft deep i think they may have been ripped off slightly it cost them £1k and that was just for the glass!!!!!
