Where Is Best To Put

my thermometer is rite beside the intake pipe for the filter. All the water passes by it at some point so gives a fairly good reading.

further away fromt he heater as possible. this way it gives a general reading of what the water is like through out the tank and not just teh heat from the heater. if you can get a stick on thermometer it would be better. i have mine in teh far bottom left hand corner of my tank.

^Pretty much what he said - ive got an led thermometer in the oppsite corner to the heater & filter. That way if that parts up to temp - the rest will be (i think that makes some sence anywhoo lol)

Anywhere you like ! You are looking for consistancy, NOT accuracy. As far as my findings go, the £1.50 LCD stick ons are way better than the £20 digital gizmos...

I hate the look of those digial ones.

I have the manual intank one as im mesuring the water not the glass. eitherway i was not paying 20 quid!!!

Yeah, everyone i know who has a digital one has a cheapy one too to test the digital one's accuracy.

Why they bother, i don't know. :S

well i have two heaters, one on each side of my tank, so i cant really put mine far away from my heaters, so i put it up against my out pipe of my filter.
