Hi, I want to buy some shrimps (not really fussed which ones as long as they are alive) and I live near Warrington in Cheshire. Where is best to buy them from??? I have looked on the internet, with no success as websites have spending limits on which they will posts it.

- Can I buy them over the internet???

- Is there any local fish shops that sell them???

Thank You

I know its international, but PetShrimp.com has some of the purest bread and best shrimp in North America. I would also look on Aquabid.com but be careful shrimp are probably the most commonly miss labeled fish out there.

I got mine from GoGoSnails off ebay. Reasonably priced but not the best packaging.

Shouldn't matter this time of year cos its warming up now.

They all came alive and well

Then disappeared into the plants only to be seen once a month if you're lucky lol

I set up a 10G tank just for my cherry shrimp, as they would quickly be consumed in either of my other tanks. They are very active and all over the tank all of the time. I think an invert tank or maybe an invert tank with a small school of small non-predatory tropicals would be the way to go.

No offence, but you really should be fussed. There are four main types of shrimp -- algae eating shrimp, claw shrimp, fan shrimp and ghost shrimp. All four have different requirements for water conditions, food and tank mates (though they do overlap a fair bit) and will grow up to anywhere between 2 and 15 centimetres long. In short, if you want them to live longer than a week, you should probably at least have a glance around a few websites (like this one or this one).

Otherwise... have you tried asking your LFS to order some in?

You'll have to call beforehand to check shrtimp are in stock:

Maidenhead Aquatics in Stockport

World of Water in Timperley, near Altrincham. Has them occassionally.

BAS in Bolton. Gets them often.

Okay, BAS is pushing it for distance. I don't know of any shops farther south than Altrincham. I don't have addresses or phone numbers, sorry.
