Where Do You Get Your Rocks From?

Out of curiosities sake.I'm planning a 20 gal H tank, and was wondering where everyone goes.....

You've pretty much covered it,
But it Depends on how cheap you are i guess,

you can purchase them from LFS, garden centres, DIY stores etc.
or you can go down to the local river, or the nearest slate cliffs or even garden

Thanks Davo86.
I was thinking about going over to the landscaping shop to see if they have rough cut slate or granite chunks.
You guys are lucky across the pond. You have slate cliffs. Maybe if I drove to the East Coast of Canada......(18 hours later). :D
Well, there is the Slate Islands in Northern Ontario.....only about 6 hr drive.....

I was just curious to see what means people here use to attain their rock. More to see what the consensus was with everyone.

For our newest tank, we got larger smooth river rocks from a garden center. We got 5 of them for 3 dollars (charged by the pound).
And some smaller smooth rocks we just bought from the dollar store :)

thanks for the replies.
I actually have to drive past I rather large garden centre on the way home from work tonight. hmmmmmm
I did try a search here on this and came up empty.
Now that I've posted, I see others who have posted the same question under the 'related topics'
Sorry for dragging out the same topic again....

I found a dude on ebay selling ocean rock, I bought one piece from my lfs to see what its like and I will be buying some from the seller soon. Its a kinda off white coloured rock with random holes in and looks real smart

Cheers

This is ok, if your keeping african cichlids or similar species that like hard water and a high Ph, but for general community tanks or SA biotopes it is best avoided.

I goto the local river and walk around for a fair while being picky... Same with my driftwood.
