Fish Herder
mine have been exhibiting AMAZING breeding behaviors over the last few days...it is absolutely unbelievable to watch compared to any breeding fish i have seen before...instaed of the nice blue and orange coloration, the male (i think) is developing a dark blue/black horizontal bar through his entire body and 2 vertical blue/black bars....
the top of his head and the front half of his body has gone almost pure white besides these bars...they are constantly displaying and doing "headstands" in front of each other and shaking vigourously - it almost looks like he is telling her where to lay her eggs...at one point two of them put their bodies side by side and had their faces touching eachother...
he seems to be pointing to certain spots on the driftwood and at the leaves of my anubias coffefolia so i was just wondering - do rainbows generally scatter eggs, lay them on the bottom of leaves maybe, or something else? i'm not too interested in having fry since it will be impossible to raise them in this tank with the syno. etc but i am just curious as usual
